Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins Enhanced is a sci-fi strategy game set on a devastated Earth, where humanity struggles to survive amidst natural disasters, resource shortages, and alien invasions. The planet has long ceased to be a normal place for life: cities are destroyed, the climate is spiraling out of control, and the remaining human forces are constantly at war with each other. While the Resistance and Ascension Corporation continue to carve up the remains of the world, the alien Hi-Genti exploit the situation for a full-scale invasion.
The environment becomes part of the tactics
During battles, the map constantly changes under the influence of the player and the elements. You can dig lakes, freeze water, melt ice, or unleash tornadoes right through enemy positions. Some areas of the battlefield literally cease to exist after major clashes, causing traditional defenses or vehicle routes to quickly turn into traps. This is especially noticeable in large-scale battles, where armies, vehicles, and the destructive forces of nature collide simultaneously.
