Crococo is a horror film with dirty humor, cramped tunnels, and a protagonist who clearly deserved a vacation, not a descent into the American sewers. Boris left Russia after a personal tragedy and almost quit his previous job, but a request from an old friend draws him back into the profession. All he needs to do is check on the missing workers, start the generator, and fix the ventilation. Then everything unfolds as it usually does in bad legends: darkness, smell, ankle-deep water, and someone's eyes ahead.
It's better not to make noise near the city.
The sewers here don't feel like a backdrop for a couple of cheap jump scares. They're cramped, damp, and uncomfortably alive, where every pipe seems to breathe right next to you. Boris is forced to delve into places a normal person wouldn't even for double pay: repairing systems, searching for traces of missing people, and listening to sounds that don't resemble the normal pumping of pumps.
The game blends a heavy atmosphere with dark humor, foul language, and the deliberate delivery of old VHS films. The monotonous translation, the gruff protagonist, and the absurdity of the situation don't negate the fear, but rather make the events even stranger. The deeper Boris descends, the more the urban legend morphs into a reality with too many teeth.
