Mistaken is an RPG about loot, experimenting with builds, and the constant desire to become even stronger. The world around us has already lost the war to the fog, but for loot hunters, this is just a reason to pack up and head to places most people avoid. The more dangerous the place, the higher the chance of finding something truly valuable.
One lucky find can change the entire build.
It's easy to get caught up in another foray here for hours. First, you need a new crafting material, then an interesting item drops that works surprisingly well with the Cartifaq you've already found. Then an idea for a completely different combination of effects strikes, meaning it's time to venture into the fog again for the missing components.
Origins provide direction without locking your character into rigid boundaries. You can focus on magic, ranged combat, or melee combat, or you can constantly change your approach as new gear becomes available. The world of Mistaken constantly presents new tools for experimentation, so the most interesting builds often emerge not from a plan, but from unexpectedly fortunate loot.
