Desktop Explorer is an atmospheric adventure with elements of psychological horror, built around an old computer that holds someone else's secrets. It all begins with a simple letter from an uncle, but it soon becomes clear that a program found on the hard drive is connected to a missing person and hides much more than it seems upon first launch.
A computer that doesn't want to let go
Here, you don't need to look for clues in familiar game locations—they're scattered all over your desktop. Corrupted applications, forgotten documents, old chats, and system directories gradually piece together a coherent story. The more closely you examine the disk's contents, the more strange things begin to happen, and the familiar operating system logic breaks down.
As your investigation progresses, the digital space gives way to full-fledged 3D scenes that capture the atmosphere of home computers from the 1990s. Retro sounds, original music, and familiar interfaces enhance a sense of nostalgia, which gradually gives way to anxiety. Each new discovery brings you closer to the solution, but also makes you wonder who's really watching all this unfold.
